Hitler's Supercity - Germania

Do you know that if Hitler win victory in World War II by 1945, the whole Berlin will be very different with what you see today? Today Berlin maybe as picture above, a city which full of bloated marble architecture.

Adolf Hitler had his vision, to build a supercity in Berlin as he called that as World Capital. Adolf Hitler called it Germania, capital of the Nazi-run world. “Berlin will only be comparable with the Ancient Egyptians, Babylonians or Romans,” And he wanted to exceed the quality of other world capitals such as London, Paris and especially Rome.

Hitler planned to create buildings bigger and better than anything that had gone before. He admired a lot of masterpiece such like Hadrian's Pantheon and Colosseum in Rome, also the Arc de Triomphe in Paris. And that is the main reason Hitler was inspired and got this supercity plan afterwards. But his dream was never fully realized and it died with him at the end of World War II. Only now after six decades of research and using new computer graphic technology is it possible to recreate the city that Hitler had intended for his people. This is Hitler’s lost world.

Below picture is the Volkshalle (“People's Hall”), also called Große Halle (“Great Hall”) was a huge monumental building planned by Hitler and his architect Albert Speer. And this plan was inspired by Pantheon in Rome.

Original Kayu Nasi Kandar at SS2

Went to SS2 to grab lunch with my dad and his friends for Nasi Kandar purposely.

They really have lot of variety, even for curry, i felt that there are thousand type there. Different meat have different curry, like mutton has curry in red (normal type), in brown (seem like mixed with green curry) and bla bla some unknown curries.

Here are some fried chicken and fish.
Actually we were first time here.. and definitely first time to order those yellow rice. But you guess what... the waiter there were very tricky.. some chicken were hidden inside this yellow rice and we did not know that. So, we just ordered other meat, mutton and sotong.. in order to fulfill our stomach.
Finally, there was RM37 for 2 plates of nasi kandar ... =.=;; portion is really big and the problem is we could not finish all...
But taste was really good. Yummy.. ~~ There are some ingredient that I did not try before, was a good experience for us... For example, there was some raisins inside the yellow rice (of course chicken inside the rice was absolutely good experience for us too xD), mutton which brown + green was great.

Ah Ping Bak Kut Teh

Here is my favourite Bak Kut Teh restaurant which is located in SS14, at Subang Jaya. It is just opposite of Inti college. We usually order one soup Bak Kut Teh and one dried Bak Kut Teh. Honestly this is my first restaurant to taste the dried Bak Kut Teh, and it really tastes good.

The soup is thick and flavorful and meanwhile, for the dried Bak Kut Teh is so aromatic. You can order other food as well, like "yao zhai guai" and some vege, those are not bad

Ah Ping Bak Kut Teh
42, Jalan SS14/2, Subang Jaya

Chicken Rice in Ampang

This is chicken rice restaurant named Lok Yun which located in Ampang, KL.
I went with my dad and I still remember that it was very hot and sunny day. We were sweating while finding this famous restaurant. Actually the area around this restaurant is quite 'kampung', we thought that it is located in center of Ampang. Fortunately, we had some assistance of few friendly local people, we finally got the place.
We ordered 1/2 chicken and a plate of fried cabbages. Chicken was much more tender and juicy and taste was different with other restaurants.
1/2 chicken for 2 person was a huge amount actually. Finally we could not finish it and just took away.
You can try to visit below website and there is some food recommendation and a map for you too ^^

Have a Little Faith

What is the first thing comes to your mind when someone asking you to do his/her eulogy? You might be shocked, but will you refuse to do so?

This book is based on Mitch's true story. An 82 years old rabbi, Reb from Mitch's old hometown askes him to deliver his eulogy and Mitch accepts his request. For understanding the man better, Mitch begins to visit him oftenly. They talk about almost everything and they debate or discuss some big ideas or small ones. From that time, Mitch learns about his christinity life, and explores how to endure when difficult things happen; what heaven is; forgiveness; doubting God; and the importance of faith in trying times.

I remember Reb tells a story. A salesman knocks on a door and offers a smile. Until one day, the customer gets so fed up with the salesman's persistance, he opens the door and spits on the salesman's face. He takes out his handkerchief and wipe away, smiles again and says "It must be raining".
Reb says this is what Faith is.

Inside this book, I really love one of the conversations and it is about marriage. Reb's wife says "On Monday you get twenty great minutes, on Tuesday you get a great hour, all add up to something beautiful."

"The trick is when thing aren't so great, you dont't junk the whole thing. It's okay to have an argument. It's okay that the other one nudges you a little, bothers you a little. It's part of being close to someone. But the joy you get from that same closeness - when you watch your children, when you wake up and smile at each other - that, as our tradition teaches us, is a blessing. And those kind of happiness you cannot find alone."

In the end, as Reb nears death, Mitch sadly fulfills the last request and writes the eulogy. And finally, he understands what all this man had teaching all along: the profound comfort of believing something actually is bigger than yourself.
